The more connections, the greater the probability of having a single point of failure in the box; reducing a 12 port controller to three connections is a far more reliable solution. The integrated connector (based on Infiniband specification SFF-8470) has a secure locking mechanism to ensure very robust connections suitable for industrial environments.
